BEAU STEPHENS DRAFTED BY THE SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Blue Springs Graduate Beau Stephens Selected by Seattle Seahawks in 2026 NFL Draft

Blue Springs High School graduate Beau Stephens was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft with the No. 148 overall pick. The Seahawks announced Stephens as an Iowa guard and fifth-round selection on April 25.

Stephens was a four-year starter at Blue Springs High School and became one of the top offensive line prospects in the country before signing with the University of Iowa. Stephens is the first 4-year starter in BSHS Football history. His high school honors included first-team all-conference on both offense and defense as a senior, first-team all-conference, all-district, and all-state honors on offense as a junior, and honorable mention all-conference honors as a sophomore.

At Iowa, Stephens developed into one of the top offensive linemen in college football. In 2025, he earned first-team All-America honors from the Associated Press, USA Today, and Pro Football Focus, along with second-team All-America honors from Sporting News, The Athletic, and On3. He was also named first-team All-Big Ten by the coaches and helped Iowa’s offensive line win the Joe Moore Award.

Stephens started all 13 games at left guard in 2025, giving him 34 career starts at Iowa. Iowa’s official bio also credits him with helping the Hawkeyes rush for more than 200 yards in five games during the 2025 season.

Seattle selected Stephens after trading back into the fifth round. Field Gulls reported that the Seahawks sent a 2027 fourth-round pick to Cleveland to acquire pick No. 148, then used that selection on Stephens.

Stephens now joins Seattle as a rookie offensive lineman after a football path that included Blue Springs High School, the University of Iowa, All-America recognition, and selection in the NFL Draft. Congratulations, Beau!
