Congratulation to BSHS Varsity Wrestler Jackson Paulsen on winning the state championship in the 150-pound weight class at the MSHSAA Class 4 Championship Meet!
Round 1 In his opening match of the championship bracket, Paulsen faced Tristan Morgan of Lee’s Summit High School (27-18). Paulsen advanced by securing a fall victory at the 1:14 mark of the first period.
Quarterfinal During the quarterfinal round, Paulsen competed against Chance Ruble of Seckman High School, who carried a 51-5 record. Paulsen won the match via a standard decision, defeating Ruble by a score of 8-6.
Semifinal In the semifinal matchup, Paulsen was paired against Luke Cline of St. Pius X High School (Kansas City), who entered the match with a 39-14 record. Paulsen advanced to the finals by securing his second pin of the tournament, winning by fall at the 0:19 mark.
1st Place Match (Championship) In the championship final, Paulsen wrestled Ross Davis of Liberty High School (26-13). The match required overtime to determine a winner, concluding in Sudden Victory-1. Paulsen secured the winning points to defeat Davis 4-1, officially claiming the Class 4 150-pound State Championship title.
